About This Project
This Upstate SC guest bath needed a low-cost path from a dated insert to a finish that read 'custom tile.' We kept the existing alcove tub footprint and tiled the surround floor-to-ceiling in large-format white marble-look porcelain with dramatic gray veining, then dropped in a vertical recessed niche finished in matte black porcelain for graphic contrast. The walls are Schluter-waterproofed behind the tile, the niche is mitered on all four sides, and the existing tub was kept to control cost. Quick, clean, and a major visual upgrade for a guest bath that mostly sees overnight company.
